A Very Merry December!

· Where "Less is More & Less is Perfect"! ·

So it is time to look forward to “A Very Merry December”! What does that mean exactly? The media, society and individually we gather visions like flowers of what the perfect holiday should be; and they dance in our heads!  And then the reality of pulling it together often brings stress and anxiety! Even in the best of times, it can bring additional stress. I have decided that this year my holidays are going to be “Very Merry” with out any imposed stress! Imposed from outside sources which is ultimately translated to and by myself! I’m not buying in!  For me this means less is more and less is enough! And Less is Perfect!  Less commercialism is more focus on the true meaning of Christmas!  It is less worry about getting up early to avoid the crowds, it is more time in my own home feeling the warmth lights and music of the season that I have selected. I often wonder how my parents did it having 9 children! Our holidays were always the best! However I do not recall too many gifts! What I recall is my mother always singing and her angelic voice! The beautiful way she decorated our home.  Bells on the stair railings that played different Christmas melodies; and flickered in tune! My mother painting a nativity on the front windows of our split entry home and telling us how she would do it for local businesses when we lived in the Orem, Utah area! Cinnamon rolls for days and of course icicles and Angel Hair center pieces, which accompanied the warning that it would cut your fingers if you touched it!  There was nothing more special to me than how my mother decorated our home or having it crowed with family and all the neighborhood kids!  We picked on each other, played games and reminisce today about those fun times! We always read the Christmas story, fought over who was going to be the Angel and of course talked about tying our toes together on Christmas Eve so no one would beat the herd of kids rushing to the living room without a trail of brothers and sisters right behind them!

Yes I am looking forward to “A Very Merry Christmas”  where “Less is More; and Less is Perfect  and it is starting this December 1st   Kalene
